Friday the 13th Pt 3, in 3D,
October 2001.
XXXXI absolutlely LOATHE all of the Friday the 13th films and what they stand for, buit I couldn't resist the first 3D movie at the Alamo!
XXXXI could babble on for pages about why I hate the F13th movies, about how they are EVERYTHING that is wrong with contemporary horror filmaking, about how these sick sequels are a waste of film stock that could have been used on REAL movies, about how they besmirch the reputation of good horror movies and invite unnecesary criticism and censorship upon movies that are at least TRYING to make a contribution to cinema (Phantasm, Evil Dead, Halloween, etc..) but I'll spare you.
XXXX
XXXXWith harpoons, axes and pitchforks flying at you, who needs a plot, acting or any semblance of creativity? (Actually, the harpoon was kinda neat...) Before the screening, Tim showed some cool 3D trailers and announced he might be partnering up with the grandiose Paramount theater for a multi-screen 3D fest. Now THAT's something to look forward to!
