Monday, March 7th, 2005 Iron Giant at the new Alamo South Lamar

I rode my bike - just to be old school. I made it up to the Alamo South Lamar a LOT sooner than I thought I would. I was early enough to see "Finding Neverland" I liked it a lot.
Folks, that one theater at the Alamo South Lamar is AMAZING!!!!
HUUUUGE screen.... marvelous sound! It has the "Real" Alamo's tiered seats, but concrete instead of creaky wood.
The lobby of this new one has a lot of character, whereas the Alamo Lake Creek is BORRRRRING!!!
Karrie was very nice to me, and arranged for me to be interviewed by K-EYE.

Karrie explained to me that the wall painting commemorated Austin's defunct old theaters.

With "Robogeek"'s help-I corralled Tim McCanless in the lobby. A loose acquaintance, "Robogeek" helped me get McCanless's autograph. Funny but Tim McCanless himself used his own pocket knife to open the new DVD and then sign it for me.

Seeing THAT movie on that big screen ( I sat front and center) was AWESOME!!! The color was amazing and a screen THAT big gives a real "peripheral vision" effect that you certainly don't get on video
